BOSTON, MA (October 27, 2017)—INDECT USA congratulates MGM Resorts, Las Vegas and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on their outstanding achievements at the 2017 National Parking Association (NPA) Innovation awards.
NPA’s highly sought after Innovation Awards are presented to organizations that demonstrate cutting edge expertise, smart city innovation and advancement of technology in the parking industry. The winners represent the best in their class, excelling in design, construction, form and function, providing positive experiences for their parkers.
“INDECT USA is proud to be the parking guidance system that is preferred by industry leaders nationwide,” said Dale Fowler, Director of INDECT USA.
MGM Resorts, Las Vegas won the Innovative Facility of the Year Award for their ambitious plan to convert 11 resort properties from free parking to paid parking venues. MGM Resorts worked closely with INDECT USA, Sentry Control Systems and SP+ to successfully complete this task earlier this year.
Sentry Control Systems provided a state-of-the-art access and revenue system, while INDECT USA installed the parking guidance system. 60,000 individual parking space sensors were integrated with custom wayfinding signage to quickly and effortlessly guide guests to the nearest vacant parking space. To ensure smooth operation across multiple sites, SP+ installed a central command center that linked all of the MGM property garages through fiber-optics allowing MGM to provide 24/7 monitoring and response to any site issues.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Parking Business Unit (DFW/PBU) won the Innovative Organization of the Year Award for their impressive business model and transit-parking master plan, which contributed to DFW achieving the top rank for customer satisfaction among large airports according to ACI’s 2016 Airport Service Quality survey.
“DFW Airport has 12,000 INDECT sensors installed over three terminals monitoring 15,000 parking spaces” said Fowler. “That’s the largest single installation of parking guidance sensors in the United States.”
NPA has been recognizing and rewarding outstanding achievements in the parking industry since 2012 with past winners including: Chandrea Frantz, President of Parking Guidance Systems, Reginald Randolph, General Manager of Houston First Corporation and Colorado State University, Fort Collins.
