MILWAUKEE (June 6, 2017) – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele has announced that Alaska Airlines successfully launched its new daily nonstop flight to Portland, Oregon early this morning.
“Nonstop service to Portland International Airport has been targeted by the Airport, and I am pleased that Alaska Airlines is expanding at MKE by adding this important west coast destination,” County Executive Chris Abele said. “I encourage travelers from throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois to take advantage of this new route while enjoying the convenience of Mitchell Airport.”
The seasonal daily nonstop flights to Portland run through August 26. The flights are operated with spacious Wi-Fi equipped Embraer E175 jets, featuring 12 seats in first class, 12 seats in premium class, and 52 seats in the main cabin. The E175 boasts cabin dimensions on par with a narrow-body jet.
The new flights depart Milwaukee daily at 7:15 a.m. and arrive in Portland at 9:47 a.m. The return flights leave Portland at 11:10 p.m. and arrive in Milwaukee at 5:02 a.m. The new Portland nonstop route can be booked online at www.alaskaair.com.
Mitchell Airport offers nonstop flights to 40 destinations coast-to-coast – many on full-size mainline aircraft – and 160 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection. MKE is served by Air Canada, Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, OneJet, Southwest, United, and Volaris. The complete list of nonstop cities can be found at www.mitchellairport.com.
General Mitchell International Airport is owned by Milwaukee County and operated by the Department of Transportation, Airport Division, under the policy direction of the Milwaukee County Executive and the County Board of Supervisors.
