RALEIGH-DURHAM, NC – The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority has named Brian Basener Director of Concessions for Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). In this position, he will assist with concessions planning for the airport, growing non-aeronautical revenue and developing new revenue sources. He began his new role on January 2, 2024.
Mr. Basener has more than 17 years of progressive retail, services, and restaurant development and leadership. Before joining RDU, he was Director of Operations for Fraport USA where he managed a concession program of 129 units with over $162M in net sales. Mr. Basener has also held the title of Director of Operations for HMS Host Corporation and Boise Airport. Throughout his career, he has evaluated existing operations, introduced continuous improvement initiatives, and elevated performance levels in product and service quality, customer satisfaction, food safety, sales volume, and profit margins.

Mr. Basener earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Widener University and a Master of Finance degree from Colorado State University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
