Harmony, MN - Harmony Enterprises announced today that it completed installing six trash compactors in three different terminals at DFW, allowing the Texas airport to handle 10x more waste than normal garbage containers and save on hauling costs, labor and trash can liners.
The SmartPack/Insite Wireless compactors also have a wireless text/email system, which alerts staff when a compactor is full. This allows for better use of staff time, says Harmony Business Development Manager Lane Powell.
“Harmony waste receptacles are about the same size as regular trash containers except they crush waste to allow more waste to be in each bag,” Powell says. “The no touch door and modern, customizable décor make them appealing in any airport setting. Each one of these compactors can hold up to 10x more waste than a traditional garbage can which in turns saves airports money and makes them more sustainable.”
The cost of the purchase is surpassed by an ROI of less than 2 years.

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
