3rd April, 2024. Airport Dimensions, the global leader in developing airport lounges and travel experiences, will launch the latest round of its global Airport Experience research on the 10th April.
The 2024 research entitled ‘AX24: The Age of The Airport Experience, reveals how airports should continue to meet traveller demands for experiences, sharing insights from over 9,000 travellers surveyed across 16 countries. It explores evolving passenger demands and desires, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for airport decision-makers looking to drive stronger commercial revenues. All respondents in the survey are classed as regular travellers, defined as those who have taken a minimum of two return trips in the last twelve months. This means they offer robust feedback based on multiple trips and airport experiences.
This year, there are five key themes emerging from the research results:
Since 2014, Airport Dimensions has been tracking passengers’ views on their airport experience. The global travel sector survived the pandemic and demand has been steadily increasing across the world.
Regular travellers surveyed by Airport Dimensions in this latest round of research expect their travel frequency to grow by an average of 8% in the next 12 months. Millennials and Generation Z have the most ambitious plans, expecting their travel to increase by 12% over the coming year, making them potentially the most important segments for airports to focus on.
As they navigate the ever-evolving landscape of global travel, airports face both challenges and opportunities in meeting today’s passenger expectations. By revealing the emerging preferences of younger traveller groups, the latest Airport Dimensions research provides some clues on how airports can keep ahead of future travellers’ needs and growing revenue.

They will be working directly with their airport clients and partners over the coming weeks to explore the implications and opportunities the findings present for airports and the industry.
