Record days in June; Passenger volumes holding steady at over 1 million per month
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Passenger volumes at San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) have been strong and stable through the summer with the Airport reporting 1.12 million passengers in the month of June, a 4.6% year-over-year increase from June 2022.
For the Fiscal Year 2022-23 (FY23), which extended from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, passenger traffic increased by 23.6% over the previous Fiscal Year. Parking volumes increased by 25.3%.
Security checkpoint numbers provided to the Airport by TSA in June, indicate two separate days with daily counts that had not been reached at SJC since the COVID-19 pandemic began. COVID-recovery highs have also been reported at other airports throughout the US.
Airport officials said passenger volumes are expected to remain consistent throughout the summer months, with many local, domestic, and international opportunities for summer travelers.
SJC Airport Director John Aitken said, “We’re pleased with the volumes we’ve seen throughout the summer, which tell us that passengers are reclaiming their comfort with and desire for flying. The numbers at end of this fiscal year are a good representation of our resilience and an indication of what we expect through the end of the calendar year. Our overall outlook is positive, and we look forward to continued growth.”
The Airport continues to expand its appeal to passengers with new food and beverage concessions such as Stump’s Taproom + Kitchen, which opened this spring, along with SJ Mac + Cheese, slated for late summer opening. SJC also now also offers ZipAir’s nonstop flights to Tokyo, which launched in December, and Spirit Airlines’ roster of new flights, which began on June 7th.

PAVIX: Proven Winner for All Airport Concrete Infrastructure
International Chem-Crete Corporation (ICC) manufactures and sells PAVIX, a unique line of crystalline waterproofing products that penetrate into the surface of cured concrete to fill and seal pores and capillary voids, creating a long lasting protective zone within the concrete substrate.
Once concrete is treated, water is prevented from penetrating through this protective zone and causing associated damage, such as freeze-thaw cracking, reinforcing steel corrosion, chloride ion penetration, and ASR related cracking.
This white paper discusses how the PAVIX CCC100 technology works and its applications.
