Southwest Airlines announced that the carrier will offer its first-ever nonstop service between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) in Long Beach, California. Daily flights will begin March 9, 2023.
With the addition of LGB, Southwest will have 62 daily departures from MCI to and 26 nonstop destinations in March 2023.
Long Beach is a waterfront playground located right in the heart of Southern California. Travelers can enjoy the Queen Mary, visit the Aquarium of the Pacific, whale watch on the water and shop and eat in one of the city’s many unique districts. The airport serves the broader Los Angeles/Orange County communities, so visitors can enjoy beautiful weather, palm trees, and an easygoing and convenient gateway to “SoCal”.
