MILWAUKEE (December 15, 2022) – Southwest Airlines has announced that it will restore nonstop service between Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and Kansas City International Airport (MCI) next summer. The service will begin July 11, 2023 and will be offered on a year-round basis every day of the week except Saturdays.
“Kansas City is a market that was flown nonstop by Southwest for many years, but it was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said County Executive David Crowley. “This is an important destination that serves both business and leisure travelers. It’s great that Southwest has decided to restore this route from our world-class airport.”
Southwest also announced that it will fly additional daily flight frequencies between Milwaukee and four other existing nonstop destinations: Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, and Las Vegas. Additional weekend flights will also be offered to Dallas-Love, Nashville, St. Louis, and Washington D.C. The new schedule also gives Milwaukee travelers access to easy one-stop connections to four destinations in Hawaii.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
