CHICAGO, May 23, 2016 - Just in time for the start of the busy summer travel season, a TSA PreCheck enrollment center is now open at Midway International Airport. The center, located in baggage claim near Lower Level Door No. 1, makes it easy and convenient for travelers to enroll in the TSA PreCheck program.
TSA PreCheck is an expedited security screening program for passengers. With TSA PreCheck, travelers have access to a dedicated lane and can experience a more efficient airport screening process by not having to remove their shoes, light jackets and belts, and by leaving laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags.
An important step in the TSA PreCheck enrollment process requires travelers to visit a TSA application center in person. The enrollment center now open at Midway provides a convenient location for travelers flying through the airport or Chicago area residents. Walk-ins are welcome, however, online appointments are encouraged.
Enrollment Center Hours of Operation:
(Closed Saturdays and Sundays)
The Enrollment Center is located at the Baggage Service Office near Lower Level Door #1
More than 150 airports, including Chicago Midway and O'Hare International Airports, have dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes and 12 airlines participate in the program including Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Virgin America, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, WestJet and Etihad Airways.
The first step is to pre-enroll ahead of time online. Click here to visit the pre-enrollment page, where you will enter preliminary information and schedule an appointment at Midway.
On the day of your appointment, you will need to bring your documentation proving identity and citizenship status. Please visit http://www.tsa.gov/tsa-precheck/required-documentation for a complete list of required documents. If you have a U.S. Passport, that is all you need for identification. You will finish the process onsite at the airport by providing your fingerprints for a background check.
The application fee is $85 and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
After completing enrollment, successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail within 45 days that is valid for five years. The enrollee should enter the provided KTN in the 'Known Traveler Number' field when booking travel reservations. The KTN also can be added when booking reservations online via a participating airline website, via phone call to the airline reservation center, or with the travel management company making reservations. Additionally, the KTN can be entered in participating airline frequent flyer profiles, where it will be stored for future reservations.

Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
