BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – The Mohave County Airport Authority has named James Scheller, C.M., as Airport Director for Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport (IFP). In this position, Mr. Scheller will direct all administrative, operational, and maintenance functions at the airport. He began his new position on May 15, 2023.
Mr. Scheller most recently served as Airport Manager of the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. Previously, he served as Landside Operations Supervisor for Houston Hobby Airport. Prior to his position in Houston, he was Properties/Advertising Administrator for the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport where he assisted the Properties Department in generating streams of revenue and creating partnerships with the local community. Mr. Scheller retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Captain. Mr. Scheller’s twenty-six years of military service was in aircraft maintenance, as well as aircrew/aircraft life support systems.
“I look forward to working with stakeholders and community organizations to increase the utilization of the Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport,” said Mr. Scheller. “I am excited to be a vital part of the Laughlin and Bullhead City community in the capacity of Airport Director. With the support of the Mohave County Airport Authority and community leaders, together we can continue the development and continued success of the Airport.”
Mr. Scheller graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management. He went on to receive his master’s degree from Everglades University in Aviation Science, with a dual concentration in Aviation Operations Management and Business Administration. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
